Students help students

- student sponsorships -

According to the principle of "pupils help pupils" there is now a second class sponsorship for one child in Ghana at a Hamburg school. It works like this: All students in a class donate a small amount of their pocket money to their godchild each month (e.g. 1 €). With this regular support, school fees, teaching materials and school clothing are financed for the sponsored child in Ghana. The children come from families who otherwise could not afford to go to school.

The children in Germany get to know their sponsored child through photos and a profile and learn about the living conditions in the African country.

A child from Hamburg now had the opportunity with his family on a trip to Ghana to even get to know the sponsored child personally. The contact was made in Accra via Jacob Tetteh from friendship with Ghana.

The meeting took place in the school. The headmaster, godchild Richmond with his mother and Jacob's wife received the visitors from Germany very warmly. After a tour of the school and a visit to Richmond's class, both families spent some time together at Richmond's home and got to know each other better. It was an exciting afternoon for everyone with lots of new impressions ...

“All of the students were in school uniform and often answered questions together in a choir. Quite different than in Hamburg. "

“The children were all so friendly and polite. You can feel that they have great respect for adults and the elderly. ”

“People are so friendly and helpful, even though their life is very hard. The essentials are missing, running water is not a matter of course

and a visit to the doctor is usually not affordable. "
